Can horses heal? Trio Therapy Partners believes they can.

For centuries, horses and humans have bonded. But the equines can be used for more than just a tool for transport, they can be used for transformation with a multitude of ailments. Horses are great biofeedback machines and can read an individual’s moods and body language. They are non-judgmental and unbiased. Interaction with horses can lead to an increase in self-esteem, self-confidence, overcoming fears and a host of other benefits.

Trio Therapy Partners started out in Eagle 久久热精品视频app 10 years ago. Founders Amanda Moody, Lauren Cremonese and Kristi Moon all had a strong passion for horses and believed that horses could be powerful healers and that spurred them to bring more equine-assisted services to the Eagle River Valley.

“The three of us had the model of a client, a horse and a therapist/equine-assisted services instructor and that is how Trio Therapy Partners was born,” said Lauren Cremonese, executive director and physical therapist at Trio Therapy Partners.

Equine movement, also known as hippotherapy, is used to engage sensory, neuromotor and cognitive systems to promote functional outcomes.

What started out in the summer of 2014 with eight clients has grown in the past decade and now Trio Therapy Partners offers 600 sessions a year serving more than 100 clients and has a growing wait list. Trio has seen a 90% increase in the number of sessions offered over the last three years alone. They have grown important community partnerships with Eagle 久久热精品视频app School District, Eagle 久久热精品视频app Health and Human Services, Eagle Valley Behavioral Health, Mountain Family Health and other local health providers.

The actual cost for a Trio Therapy Partners appointment is $600, but to make services accessible the group charges $125 with the majority of clients receiving financial aid. Trio Therapy Partners’ goal is to ensure that every family in Eagle 久久热精品视频app can access high quality therapy services without financial or insurance barriers.

Grass roots fundraising has boosted the organization in the past, but to grow and serve the needs of the community, Trio Therapy Partners decided to take things to the next level and do a bigger fundraiser on June 1. The Mountain Hoedown was moved to 4 Eagle Ranch and had a western theme, of course, complete with the Vail Valley Band playing county music staples and line dancing instruction provided by Heather Hottard. Attendees showed up in boots and bolo ties, plaid shirts, prairie skirts and plenty of cowboy hats.

The silent auction had the usual crowd favorites like restaurant gift certificates, golf rounds and hotel stays, but it also had unique items such as a bracelet made from the horse hair from two of Trio Therapy Partners’ horses, Tom and Dandy. Also featured were plenty of horse art and an opportunity to have a custom charcoal drawing of your horse done by a local artist.

The audience also got to witness the true healing power of Trio Therapy Partners’ work through a video that captured the essence of what this nonprofit provides for its clients and their families. After the video, Manuela Landeros, through tears, thanked the donors for everything they have done to make treatment possible for her three-year-old daughter living with Downs Syndrome.

Organizers of the event said they are energized by the sellout crowd and fundraising efforts that exceeded their expectations. Many attendees were just finding out about Trio Therapy Partners and what they have to offer and still lent support during the paddle raise and silent auction.

Although this year marked the tenth anniversary of Trio Therapy Partners, the team knows their work is not done. The demand for specialized therapy and behavioral health services continues to rise in Eagle 久久热精品视频app’s rural mountain community. Currently, Trio Therapy Partners operates out of the indoor equestrian facility in the Eagle 久久热精品视频app Fairgrounds complex, spending countless hours transporting all of the horses from a nearby property, and setting up and taking down their workplace each day.

“Our vision is to secure a space of our own and create a comprehensive care environment, offering year-round programs and broadening the scope of our services,” said Amanda Moody, director of operations and occupational therapist at Trio Therapy Partners. “We aim to serve more members of our community and provide a seamless therapeutic experience.”

The fundraiser may have been on June 1, but Trio Therapy Partners is still seeking financial assistance to expand its services and help more Eagle 久久热精品视频app residents. To donate, visit . If you are interested in volunteering, Trio Therapy Partners plans to host volunteer training opportunities in the fall.
